Burning Permits

AVON RESIDENTS CALL BEFORE YOU BURN!
Fire Chief Joel Richter-320-248-2978
Ed Maile Jr.-320-356-9160

Permits are required for any fire larger than 3 X 3. Three feet high and three feet across, or smaller, is considered a recreational fire.

Avon Fire and Rescue does charge for illegal burning or burning without a permit. This charge was enacted to help stop illegal burning and cover the expense of extinguishing these fires. City residents will NOT be able to get their permits from the web site.  For residents in the CITY please direct any questions or concerns to Joel Richter. We strongly urge using the compost site, located next to the Wastewater Treatment Plant, when at all possible.

Help us help you. Township residents please make sure your blue address sign is visible. If you are in need of a new sign, please call Steve Saupe, the Avon Township Clerk at 320-248-8036. City residents should make sure that your house number is visible and in good shape. These numbers are very important when we are responding to an emergency, and are used by the police and ambulance as well.  Please check yours today, it could be the difference between life and death.
